Director of Internal Audit

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Director of Internal Audit to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for the audit function.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a multi-year, risk-based internal audit plan in collaboration with the VP and business leaders
• Oversee the execution of the annual audit plan, ensuring timely and budget-compliant completion of all projects
• Manage and mentor the internal audit team, focusing on talent development and performance evaluations

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Information Technology, Insurance, or a related field; Master's degree or MBA preferred
• Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required; other relevant certifications are a plus
• 10+ years of experience in auditing, accounting, or business analysis
• 5+ years in a leadership role managing audit teams
• Extensive experience within the insurance or financial services industry preferred
