Job Summary
Serving as the principal legal advisor, the full-time remote Director of Legal Affairs will provide strategic counsel on governance, compliance, and organizational development while managing relationships with external legal partners across multiple jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic legal counsel to the CEO on governance, operations, and advocacy matters
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements across various jurisdictions
- Support governance processes and maintain organizational policies and frameworks
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree
- Minimum of ten years of progressive legal experience in corporate governance and nonprofit law
- Experience advising international nonprofit organizations or philanthropic institutions
- Demonstrated ability to build and manage networks of external advisors
- Exceptional ability to analyze and translate complex legal issues into practical guidance
