Director of Life Underwriting

Job Summary

Leading a team of underwriters, the full-time remote Director of Life Underwriting will assess medical and financial risks for life insurance applications while ensuring a best-in-class customer experience and supporting sales initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Underwrite complex formal and informal life insurance applications independently within approval authority guidelines
• Analyze and interpret complex medical and financial information to reach comprehensive assessments
• Provide training on underwriting topics to internal and external customers while managing a large caseload effectively

Required qualifications

• 10+ years of life underwriting experience with a focus on larger face amount cases
• Experience with brokerage distribution marketplace
• Approval authority up to $10,000,000
• FLMI, FALU, and/or CLU designations preferred or progress toward these designations
