Director of Mainframe Systems Programming

Job Summary

Leading a strategic direction for large-scale Mainframe teams, the remote Director of Mainframe Systems Programming will oversee hardware and software lifecycle management projects, manage z/OS and ISV upgrades, and drive innovation through automation and AI initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strong leadership and strategic direction to ensure accountability and performance in delivery outcomes
• Lead the adoption of AI-driven operations and automation to enhance efficiency and service quality
• Build trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders, operating as a strategic service delivery partner

Required qualifications

• 10+ years of related experience with a bachelor's degree, or equivalent relevant work experience
• Proven experience managing z/OS, ISV, and subsystem upgrades
• Strong background in diverse mainframe technical environments and system programming technologies
• Experience leading complex projects and programs
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Project
