Director of Medical Affairs

Job Summary

Providing strategic leadership and operational oversight, the full-time remote Director of Medical Affairs will chair IRB board meetings, resolve ethical and operational issues, and engage with clients on complex scientific and regulatory matters.

Key responsibilities

• Influence the strategic medical vision for IRB operations and advise executive leadership on medical ethics and regulatory risks
• Chair board meetings to ensure compliance with regulations and facilitate effective decision-making among board members
• Lead and develop a senior team of Medical Chairs, providing guidance on escalated ethical and medical determinations

Required qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM), or equivalent clinical doctoral degree
• Certified IRB Professional (CIP) or ability to obtain within a designated timeframe
• Minimum 5 years of senior-level leadership experience in complex environments
• Significant experience chairing IRB meetings with authority and regulatory rigor
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with diverse groups, including clinical professionals and executives
