Director of Medical Coding Operations

Job Summary

To enhance revenue cycle operations, the full-time Director of Medical Coding Operations will lead a remote team, directing coding strategies, ensuring compliance, and optimizing revenue while collaborating with senior leadership and various departments.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and oversee medical coding operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards
• Develop and implement strategies to improve revenue cycle outcomes and address coding-related denials
• Establish and maintain a structured audit program to assess coding accuracy and compliance

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) with 12 years of relevant experience or a master's degree (or equivalent) with 10 years of experience
• AAPC or AHIMA certification is required
• 12 years of experience in coding, clinical, or billing with advanced proficiency in regulatory reimbursement rules
• Proficiency in software applications such as EPIC and iCentra
• 10 years of experience in a leadership role with progressively challenging responsibilities
