Director of Mission Discovery

Job Summary

Leading the strategy and operations for Mission Discovery & Incubation, the full-time remote Director of Mission Discovery will define investment criteria, discover high-value mission opportunities, and oversee bounded incubation and experimentation to enhance organizational learning and decision-making.

Key responsibilities

• Define strategy, operating model, and priorities for Mission Discovery & Incubation while establishing governance and transition criteria
• Translate mission constraints into opportunities through research and analysis, recommending pathways for incubation or further discovery
• Lead experiments and prototypes to reduce uncertainty, using AI capabilities to enhance research and maintain quality and safety

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college, preferably in a related field
• Minimum ten years of experience in Product Management, Innovation, or related fields, including managing complex initiatives
• At least three years of managerial experience leading multidisciplinary teams
• Proven success in leading discovery, experimentation, and strategic investment work
• Strong understanding of modern Product Management practices and the ability to translate evidence into actionable strategies
