Director of Operational Excellence

Job Summary

Leading the redesign of critical processes, the full-time remote Director of Operational Excellence will build and scale Toast's Process Engineering & Continuous Improvement program, focusing on optimizing workflows and resolving systemic operational issues to enhance customer and employee experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Build and implement the strategy for process engineering and continuous improvement across cross-functional teams
• Lead end-to-end process redesign initiatives, collaborating with various departments to optimize high-impact workflows
• Identify and eliminate operational waste while establishing governance frameworks to ensure sustained improvements

Required qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in process engineering, operations, or transformation leadership with a proven track record of enterprise-wide process improvements
• Expertise in deploying AI and automation solutions to enhance operational efficiency
• Deep knowledge of process improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, and DMAIC; certification preferred
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive accountability in complex environments
• Strong analytical mindset with a focus on root cause analysis and operational data interpretation
