Director of Optical Network Architecture

Job Summary

Leading a team of senior network architects, the full-time Director of Optical Network Architecture will define and drive the strategic architecture and technology roadmap for optical transport and wavelength networks, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams in a remote work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Define and maintain the long-term architectural vision for optical transport and wavelength infrastructure
• Provide executive-level technical leadership across DWDM, ROADM, and coherent optics initiatives
• Lead and mentor a team of network architects, ensuring alignment of architecture strategy with business priorities

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline
• Minimum of twelve years of experience in telecommunications or service provider environments focused on optical transport
• At least five years of leadership experience managing senior technical teams or strategic engineering organizations
• Expert-level knowledge of DWDM, ROADM technologies, coherent optics, and transport protocols
• Experience working with optical transport vendors such as Ciena, Nokia, and Infinera
