Director of Outpatient Coding

Job Summary

To enhance coding operations, the full-time remote Director of Outpatient Coding will develop and maintain the medical record coding and reimbursement compliance plan while overseeing day-to-day department operations and collaborating with various leadership teams to optimize claims processing and data quality.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement coding and reimbursement compliance plans for outpatient facilities
• Oversee daily operations of the Outpatient Facility coding department through management of direct reports
• Collaborate with leadership teams to ensure adherence to documentation guidelines and optimize operational designs

Required qualifications

• Associate's degree in health information management or related field; Bachelor's preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of facility coding experience
• At least 3 years of supervisory or management experience
• One coding certification from AAPC or AHIMA is required
• Experience in project management and HIM operational management
