Director of Payments

Job Summary

Owning and scaling the go-to-market strategy for CARET Pay, the fully remote Director of Payments will manage the payments operating model, drive merchant boarding and activation, and enhance revenue performance through cross-functional collaboration.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and oversee the payments strategy and operating cadence, including performance metrics and accountability across teams
• Lead end-to-end merchant boarding and activation processes, ensuring a smooth transition and adoption of invoicing capabilities
• Collaborate with Sales and GTM leadership to integrate payments into the broader commercial strategy while managing payment partners and compliance requirements

Required qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in B2B payments, fintech, or SaaS, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within payments
• Proven track record of managing integrated or embedded payments within a software/SaaS environment
• Strong analytical skills for customer segmentation and economic analysis, with the ability to translate findings into actionable plans
• Experience working cross-functionally with various teams, including Sales, Customer Success, Product, and Finance
• Familiarity with payments economics, including interchange, ACH vs card, and pricing structures
