Director of Platform Engineering

Job Summary

Leading a team of engineering managers, the full-time remote Director of Platform Engineering will oversee the development of core infrastructure, data ingestion pipelines, and the tax engine, ensuring operational excellence and collaboration across product teams.

Key responsibilities

• Coach and develop engineering managers across multiple teams, fostering leadership and performance management
• Define and implement the operating model, including metrics and standards for accountability and execution
• Set technical direction for the evolution of core infrastructure and systems, partnering with engineers and product leaders

Required qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience managing multi-team engineering organizations with 20+ members
• Demonstrated operational excellence in high-availability services and familiarity with relevant metrics
• Experience in holding team members accountable and managing performance issues effectively
• Strong judgment and opinions on coding, systems, and operational standards, with the ability to advocate for them
• Fluency in AI tools and an understanding of their application in engineering processes
