Director of Platform Engineering
Job Summary
Owning the architecture and reliability of the Elastic-based detection platform, the fully remote Director of Platform Engineering will lead a team in managing operational health, executing platform consolidation, and driving technical initiatives while remaining hands-on in design and troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end architecture of the Elastic estate, including deployment models and cluster topology
- Lead the migration of the Elastic estate onto ECK, ensuring minimal service disruption
- Maintain and evolve capacity planning models while directly engaging in platform design reviews and troubleshooting
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years in infrastructure or platform engineering, with at least 4 years in a leadership role
- Demonstrated experience managing a large-scale, multi-tenant data platform in production
- Deep expertise with the Elastic Stack, including Elasticsearch and Kibana, at scale
- Experience in a managed services or MDR environment where platform availability is contractually bound
- Strong grounding in log ingestion architecture and data normalization practices
