Job Summary
To support a growing initiative for racial equity, the full-time salaried Director of Policy and Democratic Governance will lead policy development and advocacy efforts, build partnerships across government levels, and drive strategies that align community-rooted solutions with national dialogues, all while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Advance a whole-of-government approach to racial equity policy development across local, state, and federal initiatives
- Build and maintain partnerships with national intermediaries and advocacy networks to align policy efforts with racial equity strategies
- Collaborate on the design and publication of policy reports and tools that strengthen advocacy and implementation efforts
Required qualifications
- At least 8 years of experience in racial equity policy advocacy or related fields
- Demonstrated knowledge of the systemic causes of racial inequity and their intersections with other forms of oppression
- Strong understanding of governance structures and public policy processes at various government levels
- Proven experience in strategic thinking and planning to foster collaboration and strengthen democratic practices
- Deep experience in designing and facilitating multiracial, cross-sector groups focused on democratic decision-making
