Director of Policy and Research

Job Summary

Seeking a full-time Director of Policy and Research, this position will lead and coordinate policy work focused on expanding access to reproductive health care, including abortion and pregnancy care, while improving data privacy and reducing criminalization of reproductive health care providers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead policy and advocacy strategy to develop legislation and regulations that expand coverage for reproductive health care
• Identify strategic pathways to advance policy and collaborate with state-based partners on shared problem-solving
• Generate policy frameworks and advocacy resources while building NIRH's profile as a trusted expert in reproductive health policy

Required qualifications

• 7 to 12 years of policy and advocacy experience, including at least 3 years of state-level advocacy
• Demonstrated success in advancing state legislation or securing administrative policy changes
• Deep expertise in state Medicaid programs and coverage policies related to reproductive health care
• Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills to convey complex policy concepts
• Commitment to applying an intersectional and reproductive justice lens to policy recommendations
