Director of Procurement

Job Summary

To support a growing organization, the full-time salaried Director of Procurement will build and manage the procurement function from the ground up, focusing on vendor lifecycle management, cost optimization, and establishing procurement policies in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategy and policies, including vendor selection and spend governance
• Oversee vendor lifecycle management, ensuring effective management of vendor relationships and performance
• Lead strategic sourcing initiatives and create reporting infrastructure for spend visibility across the organization

Required qualifications

• Proven experience building a procurement function from scratch, including intake processes and vendor controls
• Deep category expertise in SaaS, AI, and professional services with a strong understanding of contract negotiations
• Ability to influence procurement decisions across various departments without direct authority
• Experience utilizing AI tools to enhance procurement processes and spend analytics
• Strong capability to create structure in ambiguous environments and establish rigorous sourcing processes
