Director of Product Design

Job Summary

To lead a talented design team while also contributing as an individual designer, the remote Director of Product Design will manage team performance, mentor designers, and oversee complex design initiatives from concept through launch.

Key responsibilities

• Own overall team performance and foster a culture of high-quality design while coaching designers on their development
• Promote alignment and build trust across cross-functional teams through effective communication and collaboration
• Oversee complex design initiatives, providing strategic feedback and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality user experiences

Required qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in Product Design, with at least 3 years in a management role
• Proven track record of building high-performing teams and coaching designers toward growth
• Strong portfolio showcasing leadership in delivering high-craft experiences from inception to launch
• Experience in delivering 0-1 products and navigating complex projects across multiple teams
• Preference for a background in front-end engineering and comfort in fast-paced startup environments
