Director of Production Engineering

Job Summary

To lead the teams responsible for the availability, scalability, and security of production environments, the full-time remote Director of Production Engineering will manage a globally-distributed DevOps/SRE team, drive operational excellence, and ensure compliance with security standards while contributing to architecture and incident response.

Key responsibilities

• Hire, mentor, and manage a DevOps/SRE engineering team, fostering a culture of ownership and continuous improvement
• Own the reliability and infrastructure roadmap for the AWS-based production environment, ensuring scalability and cost efficiency
• Lead security operations, including vulnerability management and incident response, to proactively address security issues

Required qualifications

• 8-12 years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or production infrastructure roles, including people management experience
• Deep hands-on experience with AWS services, including EKS and RDS
• Demonstrated experience in security operations, including incident response and vulnerability management
• 5+ years of experience with observability platforms to enhance reliability and performance
• Strong experience with Infrastructure-as-Code and CI/CD automation practices
