Job Summary
Leading the professional training and readiness portfolio, the full-time remote Senior Director of Professional Training will oversee programs that prepare individuals for entry into the psychology profession, focusing on pathway programs, supervised training quality, and early-career support.
Key responsibilities
- Provides leadership and oversight of APA's professional training and readiness portfolio, shaping its vision and priorities
- Represents education in psychology at policy and program development venues, preparing presentations and reports
- Curates and disseminates information on national trends in professional training and readiness, translating research into practical resources
Required qualifications
- Doctoral degree in health service psychology required; background in neuropsychology preferred
- Minimum of 12-15 years postdoctoral experience, including at least five years in psychology education or training
- Experience serving as a program director within health service psychology
- Strong statistical and data analysis skills to inform strategy and program development
- Demonstrated leadership and public speaking skills with national recognition in psychology education
