Director of Project Controls
Job Summary
Leading project controls and pre-construction functions for a federal project portfolio, the full-time salaried Director of Project Controls will manage estimating, bidding, cost control, scheduling, and financial reporting, based in either Columbia, MD or Knoxville, TN.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead pre-construction activities, including estimating, bid development, and procurement strategy
- Oversee project controls frameworks, ensuring accurate cost tracking, forecasting, and reporting
- Provide hands-on support to projects facing cost, schedule, or planning challenges
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in project controls, pre-construction, or construction management
- Strong understanding of construction financial management, including WIP and forecasting
- Proficiency in project controls tools and scheduling systems such as Primavera P6
- Experience with Federal ESPC, EPC, or design-build delivery models preferred
