Director of Research and Insights

Job Summary

Leading the development of enterprise-wide impact measurement systems, the full-time salaried Director of Research and Insights will manage major initiatives, including the American Job Quality Survey and an AI-powered research repository, while supporting research activities and contributing to fundraising efforts, all in a remote work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance on survey design and data analysis to external research partners
• Lead data analysis for JFF's State Impact strategy, producing actionable insights to inform organizational strategy
• Collaborate on proposals and funder materials, translating complex research into compelling narratives

Required qualifications

• At least 12 years of experience in applied research, evaluation, or data strategy within education, workforce, or social impact settings
• Proficiency in quantitative and qualitative research methods, including survey design and large dataset analysis
• Experience with data collection and visualization tools (e.g., Baserow, Domo, SPSS)
• Demonstrated success in leading enterprise-level data infrastructure or research systems
• Strong writing and proposal development skills, with experience in concept papers and funder deliverables
