Director of Safeguarding

Job Summary

Leading the global safeguarding strategy, the full-time remote Director of Safeguarding will design, implement, and enhance safeguarding systems that protect youth and staff while fostering a culture of care and resilience across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the organizational lead on safeguarding and wellbeing, advising on risks and best practices
• Develop and refine safeguarding frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure a trauma-informed and culturally responsive approach
• Coordinate incident response processes and maintain confidential records of safeguarding incidents

Required qualifications

• 10-15+ years of experience in safeguarding, child protection, or related fields
• Significant experience in designing and implementing safeguarding systems and policies
• Experience managing safeguarding concerns and incident response processes
• Proven ability to lead teams and supervise staff effectively
• Strong judgment and discretion in navigating sensitive situations
