Director of Security

Job Summary

To build and lead a modern security program for a rapidly scaling genomics and AI platform, the full-time remote Director of Security will manage the company's security initiatives, including compliance, governance, and incident response, while overseeing senior security personnel and external partners.

Key responsibilities

• Own and develop the company's security program, including policies, procedures, and documentation
• Lead compliance reviews and certification efforts for HIPAA, HITECH, SOC 2, and ISO 27001
• Establish and operationalize the incident response program, managing security incidents and communications

Required qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in security engineering, application security, or security management, with 3+ years in a senior leadership role
• Proven experience building security programs in consumer technology, SaaS, or healthcare environments
• Strong understanding of modern cloud and application security practices, particularly in AWS environments
• Experience managing offensive security initiatives, including external penetration testing and vulnerability management
• Hands-on familiarity with governance, risk, and compliance platforms and security tools
