Director of Security Engineering

Job Summary

Leading the Security Engineering and Operations team, the full-time Director of Security Engineering will manage strategy, architecture, and incident response in a remote environment while ensuring the design and implementation of security controls across corporate and cloud settings.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and manage the security engineering and operations teams, overseeing hiring, onboarding, and performance reviews
• Own the design and continuous hardening of security controls, and lead incident response efforts across various environments
• Establish and report security KPIs to technology and executive leadership, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives

Required qualifications

• 10+ years in information security, with at least 4 years in a management role in security engineering or operations
• Expertise in security engineering, incident response, and managing vendor relationships, particularly with MDR or MSSP providers
• Strong foundation in cloud security (preferably AWS), endpoint security, and zero-trust architecture
• Proficiency in scripting and automation using PowerShell, Python, or Bash
• Experience with the MITRE ATT&CK framework and vulnerability management strategies
