Director of Security Engineering

Job Summary

Leading a high-performing team, the full-time Director of Security Engineering will oversee Enterprise Security Engineering and Security Operations, managing the transition to Zero Trust Architecture and ensuring robust incident response and operational defense in a remote setting.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and mentor the security engineering team while conducting technical sprint planning and maintaining hands-on involvement in configurations
• Architect and implement the Zero Trust Strategy across IT and cloud infrastructure, focusing on identity as the perimeter and data survivability
• Oversee 24/7 Security Operations, managing outsourced MDR/SOC vendor relationships and ensuring effective monitoring and incident response

Required qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Cybersecurity, Cloud Infrastructure Security, or SecOps, with at least 3+ years in a leadership role
• Experience overseeing incident response programs and managing external vendors, including 24/7 outsourced MDR/SOC partners
• Deep technical expertise in cloud security architecture, preferably GCP, with hands-on experience in micro-segmentation and securing CI/CD pipelines
• Proven ability to architect AI systems or automation workflows that enhance operational efficiency
• Exceptional analytical skills to apply risk prioritization frameworks and Zero Trust Maturity Models to corporate structures
