Director of Security Engineering

Job Summary

Leading the security engineering practice remotely, the full-time salaried Director of Security Engineering will manage the service delivery and engineering of SIEM, EDR, SOAR, and other security platforms while driving continuous improvement and efficiency in client operational experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Lead operational and strategic planning for security engineering across various platforms, ensuring resource allocation aligns with MSS and AFC portfolios
• Own the technical direction and quality of Managed Detection and Response (MDR) and related offerings, focusing on platform architecture and detection engineering standards
• Establish and drive process improvements and documentation, delivering metrics that demonstrate efficiency and adherence to service level objectives (SLOs)

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent work experience; Master's Degree preferred
• 10 or more years of information security and managed services experience
• Demonstrated leadership of security engineering teams, including experience managing people managers
• Strong experience with SIEM, EDR, SOAR, and other security platforms
• Advanced security and/or leadership certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM) preferred
