Director of Software Engineering

Job Summary

To lead the architecture and development of an AI-native answering service platform, the full-time remote Director of Software Engineering will set technical direction, manage engineering teams, and contribute hands-on to critical systems while collaborating closely with the CTO.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the technical architecture of the AI answering service, ensuring reliability and scalability
• Actively participate in design and code reviews, and lead the implementation of core platform components
• Build and develop a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and psychological safety

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 4 years in a technical leadership role
• Hands-on experience with AI/ML or NLP systems in production
• Deep familiarity with LLM integration patterns and cloud-native architecture on AWS
• Experience with real-time communication systems, such as VoIP or WebRTC
• Proficiency in at least two core programming languages/frameworks: Python, C#, .NET, or React
