Director of Software Engineering

Job Summary

Leading the Individual & Family Plans (IFP) Technology team, the full-time remote Director of Software Engineering will manage end-to-end engineering delivery, drive the AI/ML strategy, and foster a high-performing engineering culture focused on improving healthcare experiences.

Key responsibilities:

• Own end-to-end engineering delivery across the IFP portfolios, driving strategic roadmaps and execution predictability
• Lead the development and execution of the AI/ML strategy, translating investments into scalable, production-grade outcomes
• Champion ethical AI practices and ensure high-quality design and engineering standards across the team

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of equivalent software engineering experience
• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, with 5+ years in a leadership role managing large-scale engineering teams
• 3+ years of experience integrating AI/ML capabilities into complex enterprise platforms
• Experience in a regulated environment, preferably healthcare, with knowledge of compliance and governance
• Demonstrated experience with cloud architecture and modern engineering practices such as Agile and DevOps
