Director of Software Engineering

Job Summary

Leading the modernization and scalability of clinical software platforms, the full-time Director of Software Engineering will manage multiple engineering teams focused on delivering innovative technology solutions for clinical trials in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Scale engineering teams and contractor capacity based on business priorities and project needs
• Define and execute technical strategy to enhance platform scalability, reliability, performance, and delivery speed
• Drive adoption of modern engineering practices, including DevOps, CI/CD, and automation

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field; advanced degree preferred
• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including significant experience leading engineering teams
• Strong technical background in enterprise software development, including Java, .NET/C#, and Oracle databases
• Experience leading platform modernization initiatives and DevOps transformation
• Experience working in regulated environments requiring high reliability and quality standards
