Director of Software Engineering

Job Summary

To lead the modernization and scalability of clinical software platforms, the full-time Director of Software Engineering will manage multiple engineering teams, drive platform transformation, and ensure operational excellence in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Scale engineering teams and contractor capacity based on project needs and business priorities
• Define and execute technical strategies to enhance platform scalability, reliability, and performance
• Drive the adoption of modern engineering practices, including DevOps and CI/CD, while establishing platform reliability and observability practices

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field; advanced degree preferred
• 10+ years of software engineering experience with significant leadership in enterprise technology initiatives
• Proven experience managing large-scale engineering organizations and distributed teams
• Strong technical background in enterprise software development, including Java, .NET/C#, and Oracle databases
• Experience in platform modernization initiatives and implementing observability and performance management strategies
