Job Summary
To strengthen advocacy capabilities across domestic sites, the full-time salaried Director of State Advocacy will analyze policy landscapes, develop advocacy tools, and build partnerships to advance solutions for youth homelessness and related social issues in a fully remote environment.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze state and local legislative developments affecting youth homelessness and related social determinants of health
- Design and implement capacity-building strategies for advocacy across various sites, enhancing local advocacy plans
- Serve as a thought partner and collaborate with site leaders and external partners to support effective advocacy initiatives
Required qualifications
- Minimum 7 years of experience in public policy, advocacy, or related fields
- Demonstrated experience in supporting policy implementation and advocacy initiatives at state and local levels
- Significant knowledge of at least one major social determinant of health policy domain
- Familiarity with federal legislative processes and their interaction with state and local systems
- Experience working with nonprofit organizations and navigating politically diverse environments
