Job Summary

Serving as the key point of contact for government officials and stakeholders, the full-time salaried Director of State Government Affairs in the Southeastern US will manage state legislative and regulatory policy interactions, advocate for CSL Behring's interests, and collaborate with internal teams to address policy issues impacting access to care and business operations.

Key responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain relationships with state legislators and regulatory officials, representing CSL Behring on public policy matters
  • Provide legislative strategy, regulatory analysis, and draft legislation to support CSL Behring's priorities and initiatives
  • Collaborate with internal departments to create action plans that advance state legislative initiatives and ensure patient access to therapies
Required qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred in public policy, government, political science, or related field
  • 7+ years of experience in government affairs or state government, with knowledge of the legislative process in the Southeast US region
  • Previous advocacy experience with pharmaceutical/biotech companies, trade associations, or patient advocacy organizations is highly desirable
  • Strong understanding of the life sciences industry and the impact of policies on business operations
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
