Director of Strategic Growth

Job Summary

To drive resource development and systems change, the full-time remote Director of Strategic Growth will manage grant seeking, grantwriting, and partner engagement with public defense leadership to expand collaborative defense initiatives across jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Research and identify funding opportunities for public defense expansion, including grants and budgetary appropriations
• Develop compelling funding applications and proposals for government and philanthropic sources
• Build and manage relationships with public defenders and funding agencies to enhance resource development efforts

Required qualifications

• 7-10 years of experience in development, government affairs, or grants management, with a preference for a JD, MSW, or relevant graduate degree
• Proven success in securing government funding and managing the full-cycle proposal development process
• Experience in public sector agencies or justice-adjacent systems is strongly preferred
• Exceptional written communication skills for crafting persuasive proposals and responses
• Strong project management skills with the ability to navigate complex systems and maintain stakeholder relationships
