Director of Tax Operations

Job Summary

Leading the income tax accounting function, the full-time Director of Tax Operations will manage Yahoo's consolidated tax provisions and financial disclosures while driving process optimization through automation and AI, reporting to the Senior Director of Tax Operations.

Key responsibilities

• Own the preparation and review of consolidated and segmented annual and quarterly tax provisions, including footnote disclosures
• Serve as the primary contact for external financial statement auditors and provide technical guidance on complex tax accounting matters
• Lead and mentor the income tax accounting team, driving timelines and deliverables to completion while optimizing workflows through technology

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field; CPA or CPA-eligible preferred
• 12+ years of progressive tax experience, including at least 5 years in public accounting and/or the tax department of a multinational public company
• Deep working command of ASC 740 and hands-on proficiency with Oracle Tax Reporting Cloud Service (TRCS)
• Experience in driving process improvements through automation and leveraging AI tools
• Proven ability to build trust and work cross-functionally in a remote-first environment
