Director of Underwriting

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Director of Underwriting-Surplus Lines Casualty.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the Senior Underwriting production team and drive profitable new business growth
• Establish performance goals, review submission referrals, and manage overall team performance and training
• Assess complex accounts and lead product and process improvements for the E&S Division

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; relevant experience may substitute for education
• Minimum of eight years of E&S underwriting experience with a focus on casualty lines, including three years in a leadership role
• Advanced knowledge of market conditions, trends, and competitor products
• Demonstrated ability to assess risks, price, and negotiate business effectively
• Thorough understanding of key exposures, portfolio pricing techniques, and product development
