Director of Underwriting
Job Summary
Leading complex underwriting for new and renewing pharmacy benefit business, the full-time remote Director of Underwriting will manage deal-level pricing, partner with cross-functional teams, and enhance underwriting capabilities through automation and AI tools.
Key responsibilities
- Execute deal-level underwriting using historical claims and pharmacy network pricing
- Partner with Product, Pricing, and Sales to optimize pricing and identify savings opportunities
- Manage multiple concurrent deals while maintaining accuracy and underwriting rigor
Required qualifications
- 8+ years of underwriting experience, specifically in PBM/pharmacy benefit underwriting
- Recent hands-on experience building and evaluating pharmacy benefit pricing for self-funded employer groups
- Deep understanding of PBM economics, including pricing, rebates, and margin drivers
- Advanced Excel modeling skills for complex underwriting models
- Ability to manage multiple complex deals in a fast-paced environment
