Director of US Public Policy

Job Summary

Seeking a strategic leader, the full-time salaried Director of US Public Policy will manage engagement strategies with policymakers and stakeholders, oversee a regional policy team, and develop advocacy materials to promote economic empowerment and regulatory frameworks in a remote setting.

Key responsibilities

• Cultivate and guide public policy and government relations strategy across the US to support economic empowerment
• Identify legislative and regulatory developments affecting Block's ecosystem and position the company to influence them
• Build and maintain relationships with senior policymakers and regulatory agencies while managing a high-performing policy team

Required qualifications

• 15+ years of public policy experience, preferably in the US government and financial services sectors
• 10+ years of experience managing teams of policy professionals, including budgeting and strategic planning
• Strong background in advocacy and public policy development related to global financial services
• Proven ability to engage across ideological and institutional lines as a coalition-builder
• Exceptional communication skills to translate complex regulatory concepts for diverse audiences
