Job Summary
To support advocacy efforts in Kazakhstan, the part-time Disability Advocacy Consultant will engage with government authorities and stakeholders, develop strategic advocacy proposals, and coordinate efforts to address gender-based violence against women, particularly focusing on sexual violence and the rights of women and girls with disabilities, working remotely on a consultancy basis.
Key responsibilities
- Develop a Kazakhstan advocacy action plan outlining objectives, target institutions, and proposed activities for 2026-2027
- Engage with relevant authorities and stakeholders to follow up on advocacy initiatives and maintain communication on gender-based violence issues
- Create concrete proposals for legislative and policy reforms addressing gender-based violence against women and girls with disabilities
Required qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in advocacy, legal reform, or human rights related to gender-based violence and disability rights in Kazakhstan
- Proven track record of engaging with government authorities and civil society organizations
- Strong understanding of Kazakhstan's legal and policy framework regarding gender-based violence and disability rights
- Experience in drafting advocacy materials and policy recommendations
- Fluency in Russian and/or Kazakh, with professional proficiency in English
