Disability Benefit Specialist

Job Summary

Evaluating claims and determining benefit eligibility, the full-time remote Disability Benefit Specialist will manage a caseload of disability claims while providing exceptional support and guidance to employees on return-to-work strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Manage assigned caseload of Short Term/Long Term Disability claims and ensure accurate eligibility determinations
• Communicate with claimants, employers, and medical professionals to gather necessary information for benefit authorization
• Provide superior customer service by rendering timely benefit determinations and responding to inquiries effectively

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
• 2+ years of experience in STD/LTD claims adjudication
• Familiarity with FMLA/State leave claims is a plus
• Knowledge of ERISA regulations and Social Security procedures
• Proficient in computer applications such as Excel and web-based systems
