Disability Benefit Specialist

Job Summary

Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Disability Benefit Specialist will manage a caseload of disability claims, evaluate eligibility, and guide employees through return-to-work strategies while providing exceptional support and timely decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage assigned caseload of Short Term and Long Term Disability claims
• Communicate with claimants and medical professionals to gather necessary information for eligibility and benefit authorization
• Provide superior customer service by ensuring timely benefit determinations and responding to inquiries

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
• 2+ years of experience in STD/LTD claims adjudication
• Familiarity with FMLA/State leave claims is a plus
• Knowledge of ERISA regulations and disability procedures
• Proficiency in computer applications including Excel and web-based systems
