Distributed Systems Engineer

Job Summary

Focused on designing and evolving core systems, the full-time remote Distributed Systems Engineer will implement resilient architectures, build tooling for reliability, and diagnose critical paths in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design and evolve core control, data, and observability systems for LiveKit Cloud
• Implement resilient, region-spanning architectures that handle partial failures gracefully
• Build libraries and tooling to enhance reliability and developer velocity across the organization

Required qualifications

• Experience designing and delivering distributed systems in a production environment
• Proficiency in programming fundamentals and a strong understanding of distributed failure modes
• Ability to take ownership of projects from prototype to monitoring and iteration
• Familiarity with technologies such as Go, gRPC, and Kubernetes
• Clear communication skills and a practical engineering mindset
