Distributed Systems Engineer

Job Summary

To contribute to cutting-edge Apache big data projects, the full-time remote Distributed Systems Engineer will develop production-grade code, debug engine internals, and influence architectural decisions across various distributed systems.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute production-grade code to Apache big data projects
• Debug and optimize query planning, distributed execution, and storage layers at petabyte scale
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor senior engineers through code reviews

Required qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in software development
• Strong Java and/or Scala skills
• Experience with distributed systems and concurrent or parallel programming
• Working knowledge of at least one Apache big data project internals
• Familiarity with JVM performance characteristics
