Distribution Protection Engineer

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Distribution Protection Engineer to join their Distribution System Protection and Automation team.

Key Responsibilities

• Solve challenging substation engineering problems and perform quality reviews
• Collaborate with clients and staff, covering project planning through design and construction support
• Conduct system protection studies and create relay settings for various distribution voltages

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) with varying years of related experience based on level (2+ for Mid-Level, 4+ for Senior Level, 8+ for Lead Level)
• Strong foundation in distribution power systems and protection strategies
• Experience with device coordination and creating relay settings for distribution devices
• Proficiency in distribution power tools for coordination studies and fault analysis
• Knowledge of technical reviews and interconnection studies for customer distributed generation applications
