DRG Validation Auditor

Job Summary

To enhance coding accuracy and compliance, the full-time remote DRG Validation Auditor will perform internal quality assessments on coders, ensuring adherence to national coding guidelines and company policies while improving physician documentation and patient data integrity.

Key responsibilities

• Leads and coordinates quality reviews for inpatient and outpatient coding across multiple Health Information Management Service Centers
• Ensures coding staff adherence to coding guidelines and policies, while maintaining productivity and accuracy standards
• Participates in special reviews or projects to enhance coding practices and knowledge

Required qualifications

• High school diploma and/or GED preferred; undergraduate degree in Health Information Management (HIM) or Health Information Technology (HIT) preferred
• Minimum of 3 years of acute care inpatient/outpatient coding experience preferred
• Minimum of 3 years of coding auditing or monitoring experience strongly preferred
• Certifications such as RHIA, RHIT, and/or CCS preferred
