Drools Developer

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Drools Developer to design, build, and maintain business rules for a large-scale underwriting and decisioning platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Drools (KIE) rules for complex underwriting and policy logic
• Optimize rule execution for low latency and high throughput, managing rule salience and conflict resolution
• Ensure decisions are deterministic and auditable, contributing to the overall decisioning architecture

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience with Drools and 7+ years with Apache Drools, Java, and Spring Boot framework
• Experience in designing rule sets for reusability and controlled rollout
• Ability to develop unit tests and troubleshoot production issues related to rule execution
• Experience mentoring junior engineers and establishing standards for rule authoring
• Familiarity with Python and GraphQL is a plus
