Job Summary
To support impactful water management projects, the full-time Early-Career Water Resources Engineer will develop, implement, and maintain operational river forecasting systems, focusing on Delft-FEWS configuration and related modeling workflows, with the opportunity to work remotely or from the office in Research Triangle Park, NC.
Key responsibilities
- Support the development, testing, and maintenance of operational river forecasting systems, particularly Delft-FEWS
- Assist with data ingestion, processing, quality control, model execution, and visualization workflows
- Process and analyze hydrometeorological and water resources data to support decision-making processes
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, hydrology, water resources engineering, environmental science, computer science, geography, or a related discipline
- At least one year of relevant professional experience or related coursework, internships, or research assistantships
- Experience with hydrology, hydraulics, water resources engineering, or environmental modeling
- Basic programming or data analysis experience, such as Python, R, MATLAB, SQL, or Excel
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment
