Job Summary

Managing a dedicated team of reporters and freelancers, the full-time salaried East Bay Division Editor will oversee daily news production for multiple hyperlocal websites and a weekly newspaper, while actively engaging with the community and participating in management meetings.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the editorial team in producing daily newsletters and weekly publications
• Attend community events and represent the organization to enhance brand visibility
• Collaborate with the Editorial Director to strategize and improve journalism efforts

Required qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in daily journalism
• Bachelor's degree or higher in journalism or a related field
• Proficiency in Google, Adobe, and Microsoft tools
• Familiarity with WordPress platform preferred
• Understanding of issues affecting the Tri-Valley, Alameda County, and Contra Costa County preferred
