Job Summary

To support the Great Atlantic Regional Fisheries Office, the full-time Economist will develop and implement methods to analyze economic impacts of regulations aimed at protecting Atlantic large whales, conducting detailed analyses remotely in coordination with project leads.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement methods to analyze economic impacts of regulations and policies protecting Atlantic large whales
• Conduct reviews of relevant data and procedures in accordance with applicable statutes and regulations
• Execute economic impact analyses to inform regulatory policy decision-making and meet statutory requirements

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social science or economics with coursework in natural resource economics
• Minimum three (3) years of relevant experience
• Technical expertise to conduct and complete economic analyses
• Familiarity with major federal environmental policy and compliance acts
• Ability to analyze and solve complex technical or economic challenges
