EDI Lead Engineer
Job Summary
Leading the modernization of a healthcare interoperability platform, the full-time remote EDI Lead Engineer will drive the design, development, and delivery of enterprise-scale EDI and FHIR integration solutions while mentoring engineers and guiding technical direction.
Key responsibilities:
- Serve as the technical lead for healthcare integration initiatives involving HIPAA X12 transactions, HL7, and FHIR APIs
- Design and implement scalable healthcare data exchange solutions and maintain robust data transformation workflows
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions and support production troubleshooting
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 8+ years of software engineering experience with 5+ years in healthcare EDI
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA X12 transactions, HL7, and FHIR standards
- Hands-on experience with programming languages such as Java, C#, or Go
- Experience with REST APIs, microservices, and cloud technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
