Electrical Designer

Job Summary

Reviewing and overseeing design documents, the part-time Electrical Designer will utilize advanced AutoCAD skills to create electrical drawings, assist construction teams in field issue resolution, and ensure compliance with industry standards, with the flexibility to work remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Review and develop project documents while providing guidance to designers
• Act as a field resource for construction teams to resolve on-site issues
• Design and draft advanced electrical drawings, including equipment layout and cable sizing

Required qualifications

• Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or a High School diploma with 5 years of relevant experience
• 10-20 years of experience in the refining or petrochemical industry
• Proficiency in computer-aided drafting programs such as AutoCAD and MicroStation
• Experience leading small teams and providing training to less experienced designers
• Familiarity with SmartPlant and advanced 3D modeling techniques
